Gratitude
In this house
We’re thankful for
The books, the cook,
The hardwood floor,
The rugs, the bugs,
Each bedroom door,
The cat, the mat,
Each dresser drawer,
The bears, the chairs,
Completed chores,
The hugs, the mugs,
The clothes we wore,
Our cars, the stars,
No nighttime snores,
The hats, the bats,
And apple cores.
All of these,
And so much more,
Are all the things
We’re thankful for.
